Kate Lubsen
Kate has been a part of the San Diego aquatic community for over three decades. She is a zone water polo coach for the USAWP Olympic Development Program and an age group coach for San Diego Shores Water Polo Club with previous coaching years at La Jolla High School and Miramar College. She also served six years as a leader on the Point Loma High School Aquatic Booster Board.
Kate is a graduate of the San Diego Unified School District from Serra High School (now Canyon Hills High) where her high school aquatics programs existed by shared pool use at Allied Gardens City Pool. Her HS aquatics program opened up new opportunities in water polo and swim which eventually helped earn her a spot on the University of Califonia, Berkeley Women’s Water Polo NCAA team and graduating with honors from Cal.
Kate is a former lifeguard and swim instructor for the City of San Diego and the City of Berkeley. She values the importance of every community member of all ages having access to pools year-round. Kate resides in Point Loma (since 2000) with her husband and five children.
